Microsoft is Developing ChatGPT to Compete With Google

Some have claimed that AI conversation will replace traditional search engines in response to ChatGPT. According to a recent story, Microsoft is “getting ready to launch a version of its Bing search engine that employs the artificial intelligence behind ChatGPT to answer some search questions,” while Google is reportedly in “code red” over the technology.

The Information, citing years of previous work, claims this. Microsoft invested in OpenAI in 2019 and “included a promise to include some GPT into Bing.”

Search suggestions are generated automatically as you write using a previous version of GPT. Microsoft has already made plans to include Dall-E 2 in Bing Image Creator, where you can type in a description and generate AI artwork.

One with inside knowledge of the matter claims that the upcoming announcements will reveal more significant features.

Instead of the Featured Snippet technique of quoting a source that might address your question or a list of links, these AI-backed solutions could take the shape of a whole sentence that includes the source of the information. The majority of search results will still be produced by Bing using its own technology, though, as GPT isn’t designed to “continuously scour the web or offer real-time information like a search engine does.” It’s unclear at this time how Bing will guarantee the correctness of the responses.

Or, even if the user didn’t include those keywords, ChatGPT may offer a similar inquiry on the Vichy France dictatorship while elaborating on the connection to the user’s original inquiry regarding the French Resistance during World War II. According to this person, GPT might also assist Bing in recommending additional terms users could type to obtain results for relevant queries.

This “may launch by the end of March,” according to The Information, and Bing might be promoted as “one of the only ways to access sections of GPT for free.” While Microsoft has been characterized as essentially “footing the startup’s cloud bill,” OpenAI intends to charge for the pricey ChatGPT in the future.
